WISH (Women Involved in Software & Hardware) is a support group for female computing majors at the California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo. Founded in 2007, WISH is still a young community that continues to grow each year. Our goal is to empower our technical women and rectify the gender gap in the computing field.

2022 Summer Spotlights

Mansi Achuthan

I am a 4th Computer Science major pursuing minors in Data Science and Statistics. I have been a member of WISH all four years here at Cal Poly, and I am currently an officer on the WISH mentorship team. I love of the arts, so some of my hobbies include dancing, drawing, and making mashups of my favorite songs. I was a software engineer at Google for 3 months this summer in San Francisco. I worked under Google Commerce and spent my summer contributing to the backend migration of a production database. It was great to finally have an internship in person and live on my own in a big city. Making friends, eating good food, and exploring different parts of SF on the weekend made my experience really fun.
